What a Difference a Case Makes Or: What Goes into a Strong Supreme Court Majority
We undertake an analysis of majority size by issue area, Court composition, party of appointing President, and Martin-Quinn scores to gain leverage on what global factors, besides attitudinal belief, could be at play in a given case, and more specifically, what the trend of certain issues or Court compositions are in making larger majorities.
